The Value of Simple Websites
Most websites are designed to keep you clicking. A lot of the advice on blogging is built on this same traffic mentality - keep providing fresh content, cross-link to other websites, promote your posts, etc. But are these websites providing any real benefits to readers? Or has traffic trumped substance?
I have been pondering what is the true purpose of a good website. The answer turns out to be quite simple: to provide information that may be useful to others. Instead of websites that keep people clicking, what if websites were designed to convey useful information in a simple format?
My thinking is if you can provide good information in a simple way, then you don't need to set up a continual stream of information. If you can get at the essence of something, really down to its roots, what more do you need to say?
My goal with this website is to put up a handful of articles based on
natural principles that will have long-term value.
