I wrote a couple years ago about the potential dangers of mouthwash. I had the feeling that mouthwash was the wrong approach to oral health, but I didn't put it all together.
Now a new product has been developed that hopes to improve oral hygiene through balancing the bacteria in the mouth. It's called EvoraPlus. It contains 3 strands of good bacteria that are found in healthy mouths.
This product just launched last December, but it looks like they are building the research behind it. One interesting thought came from the video on the website. It talked about how products like strong mouthwashes seek to kill all germs. They do this, but in fact, they destroy the good bacteria with the bad like I talked about in the last post.
This product also claims that it can lead to whiter teeth. Most commercial whiteners work by just bleaching the teeth. This product supposedly treats the real problem instead, leaving the user with whiter teeth.
