I wanted to mention one other presentation from AHS12, and that was Remko Kuiper's talk. Remko did a great job putting a ton of information into his 40-minute talk. He also delivered the funniest line of the whole conference with his story about a "blubbering brain" (had to be there).
The take-home points of his presentation: hunter-gatherers consumed more seafood and more DHA than previously believed. Their Vitamin D levels were also off the charts compared to modern people. Also, he showed how the normal depletion pattern in pregnant women (women's level of iron and other nutrients drop during pregnancy) is really only a Western phenomenon. This is actually a sign the woman isn't getting enough of these nutrients.
