I wanted to do one more lawn care post, only because of the similarities to Paleo-ish thinking. With the Paleo diet, you are trying to feed people the diet they are adapted to. So…the same thinking could be applied to grass.
What is the "natural diet" for grass? Well, not chemical fertilizer, sewage sludge, or soybean meal. Instead, I would say it is compost and manure.
Fertilizer focuses on getting the proper amounts of nitrogen to the grass while ignoring the other "nutritional" needs. This is just like how modern diets try to get enough calories and macronutrients in but without making the Paleo connection.
So as I said earlier, I will try feeding my lawn a "natural diet" and see how it goes.

Is mowing the grass paleo? You will just have to buy a cow Matt. Then your grass will truly be paleo. You will have mowing and fertilization all in one package.
Ha, you know strangely enough I actually read about such a thing: http://www.thedirtyway.com/tag/joel-salatin/
This guy recommends grazing by cows and then getting the manure in for optimal grass.
Don’t think my neighbors would dig the cow!
Lawn gives every garden an attractive look ans also gives immense freshness to every individual. To grow lawn it is to be feed in an appropriate manner with good amount of compost & manure.
