A new study pegs light during the later evening as a link to depression. This was a hamster study, but I believe they will eventually find similar results in humans.
Hamsters exposed to light at night became less active and lost their appetitie for sugar. The good news is that all this was reversed after getting back to normal light-dark patterns.

I wonder if losing appetite for sugar is really such a bad thing. Although I have a feeling that activities like TV-watching at night might be related to increased sugar-craving among humans?
I think the loss of sugar was just one way to measure their loss of foraging motivation.
Yes, I think late-tv could be related, definitely.
