Is Blogging On The Way Out?

I read an interesting article that showed how blogging is on the decline with some age groups.  Predictably, many are moving to Facebook and Twitter, and hence blogging is left with fewer users.

I've started to feel the same trend lately as well.  I find myself reading fewer blogs and also reading blogs less often.

So if blogging is on the decline, then what is the next big thing online?  Certainly, online communication isn't going away.  It will just morph into newer forms.

I have no prediction for what will come next.  I am still baffled at the success of Farmville.  I still seems bizarre to me that people would pay real money to buy imaginary online goods.  So I would have predicted that Farmville would have failed, yet it has made billions.

Maybe someone else has a prediction on what's next.

  1. Young people like sound-bites. Twitter is the ultimate sound-bite site. Hmmm, that rhymes.

Fewer young people’s blogs increases the relative number of mature people’s blogs. So we win. :-D
